Kellogg Morgan Stanley Sustainable Investing Challenge - Registration

Ends on

The Kellogg-Morgan Stanley Sustainable Investing Challenge harnesses the power of capital markets and student creativity to create positive impact in a world of perpetual resource scarcity and continued population growth. Every year, the Kellogg School of Management and Morgan Stanley partner to host the challenge where teams of graduate students from around the globe develop and pitch creative financial approaches to tackle our world’s most pressing challenges.

Contestants must propose and defend a strategy that uses finance and investment tools rather than an operating enterprise to address an environmental or societal challenge. The competition is an opportunity to apply core finance principles to target the economic, social and environmental challenges that drive the field of sustainable investing. Pitches might focus on areas like water, energy, food, social mobility, climate change, education or healthcare, among others. Contestants are encouraged to apply the entire spectrum of investment tools, styles and asset classes. The Challenge seeks to identify the next generation of sustainable finance practitioners, connect emerging leaders with industry professionals, and foster even greater emphasis on sustainability at graduate schools around the world.

Teams of graduate students are invited to register to compete by January 26, 2025, 11:59 p.m. PT.

Registration only requires the identification of a problem the team is interested in developing an innovative financial response for. It is expected this space may evolve as you continue to work through your solution. If you opt-in, mentor pairings are made on the basis of the information provided below. A great way to learn more about how to construct a strong problem/challenge scope is to watch the kickoff webinar, specifically the second half where Kellogg's Professor Megan Kashner presents a lecture on problem identification.

Complete the form below to register to compete in the 2025 challenge.

*** Hot tip: One team member will submit the registration on behalf of the entire team, but we suggest that team member invites the other team members to be collaborators (through the manage collaborators link below). Collaborators must accept the invitation to be confirmed as a collaborator. That will allow us to communicate with all team members through the registration platform (otherwise only the team member who submits the registration on behalf of the team will receive communication through the platform).

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
